I draw the girls now

Happy 2013 (crunch time is upon us)

Hi all of you fellow beings out in this great world... hope you are entering the new year healthy and happy! i know i haven't been updating, but i easily forget that people actually care if i say anything or not. so i thought, hey what the heck. It's not like i will do this all the time (add more than art to these posts) but I can at least do this every once in a while.
so first here is some art...
Here's a drawing I did of myself. don't feel like I've done one in a while.
I've really been practicing on my drawing skills, and feel like it's really paid off!

And here is an exploration drawing of Ortha. It's been a a long and frustrating road, but i feel like it's going in a good direction.

I'm just going to use the story of Ortha as a learning experience. I'm not going to try to strive for any accolades, or awards with this film (which I know everyone, including myself normally wants to strive for) but, I don't want to have that mind set with this this year. I want to finish this film, and make it the best that I can make it.
I'm a student trying to learn, and that's what I'm going to do. I'm not going to make a perfect story, I'm not going to have the best backgrounds, or character designs, or animation. but i'm going to put myself out there and do what I feel works for me as I keep testing and pushing myself....

Sorry for the left professing tangent... just really wanted to say that to the world, and to myself
OUT LOUD!
Thank you for being a friend.

Happy Birthday JESUS

So for this Christmas, I wanted to make something that reflected what I thought about this special holiday. I always wonder why so many people celebrate Christmas, without recognizing that it's CHRIST-mas. Even though historically, December 25th isn't the actual day of Jesus's birth, it's a time to recognize that he was born and to celebrate his coming into the world, and eventual atonement for it.

I have been really thinking about how I need to give him more of the glory in my art and in my life, and that's how I want to start off this new year. I want to give Jesus all the glory and the honor and praise for giving me everything that i have; for the shirt on my back, the food in my belly, the pencil and paper (wacom tablet and computer) that i have, and the people that I love, and don't "love". Thank you Lord for being born, and allowing me to be reborn. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
